Don’t rush the Airport Link

Brisbane's newest tunnel, the Airport Link M7 toll road, has opened to traffic with little fanfare. But Queensland Transport and Main Roads department and the Queensland Police Service are already warning motorist not to speed through it. The tunnel is fitted with fixed speed cameras in two locations and cover travel in both directions. Speed advisory signs are positioned at the tunnel’s entrances. The 6.7 kilometre Airport Link M7 tunnel toll road connects the CLEM7 Tunnel, the Inner City Bypass and the local road network at Bowen Hills to the northern arterials of Gympie Road, Stafford Road at Kedron, Sandgate Road, and the East-West Arterial Road leading to Brisbane Airport and the Australia TradeCoast precinct. The M7 is Australia's largest privately funded transport infrastructure project to date.
