UK Fleet wins with Truckfest
Eddie Stobart Transport and Logistics, as well as running a fleet of 2,200 linehaul trucks also has a Stobart Members Club that has a membership of 20,000 Britishers who vie in the competition to ‘spot’ individual trucks.
Every truck is named after a particular woman and the truck spotting now rivals bird watching and train spotting in the UK.
The Stobart operation has its own reality television show in the UK and last weekend held the first Stobart Truck Festival that attracted more than 6,000 tyre kickers to see the trucks and meet the now-famous drivers who have starred in the TV series.
The Stobart fleet runs 1600 Scanias in the highly efficient fleet specialising in just-in-time deliveries to the big supermarket chains in the UK.
The balance of the fleet is made up mostly of Volvos with a few Mercedes Benz trucks.
