It’s all go at ABC Transport as trucks move in and out of the yard, forklifts lift freight from delivery trucks and reload it into tautliners on the other side of the yard. Fridge vans are backed up to cold room loading docks, a couple of trucks are over at the BP getting a tub, and several others are getting the onceover in the workshop before heading out.
And it’s just a typical day at family-owned ABC Transport’s depot at Wingfield in the thick of Adelaide’s transport hub. The freight they are gathering and loading is bound for destinations up the Stuart Highway right up to Alice Springs and Darwin or for remote communities throughout South Australia, Northern Territory and across to Western Australia. ABC Transport lives by its motto: ‘We’ve got the Territory covered’.

Now more active as one of ABC’s directors, Brian has started to relax his day to day involvement over the past 18 months or so, but it’s not beyond him to still come in for a day, drive a forklift around and work as hard as anybody else in the yard, and he’s always contactable and maintains a handle on everything.
