Part of the furniture…
“Trucks are pivotal; we transport all of our own furniture from Bendigo to our stores across five states,” Jimmy Possum’s general business manager Gordon Tivendale said as the company took delivery of a new Hino FD 500.
The truck is set to become part of the furniture as Bendigo-based Jimmy Possum transports all its furniture from the Bendigo factory to eight outlets spread across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the ACT, and Queensland.
“Our trucks do up to 4000 kilometres a week depending on which state they visit, so reliability is crucial for the successful operation of our business. Our trucks aren't forced to carry heavy loads but the extra grunt of the Hino certainly helps make light work of transporting our stock long distance.”
Jimmy Possum has been producing locally-made furniture for almost 20 years and is reportedly the only manufacturer in the country producing furniture from both new and recycled timbers in classic and contemporary designs.
