Heavy Duty Off-roader with Scania’s Big Donk
Scania has released a massive 8x8 special duty truck designed for the roughest of operating conditions and with built in safety construction aimed at the heavy-haulage emergency and peacekeeping markets.
Looking particularly military-butch, the truck will be powered by Scania’s big 730 hp rated V8 with a high mounted crew cab.
The transmission is the automated manual Opticruise and all four axles have hub reduction with two bog cog ratios.
Over the four axles, the truck is rated at a gross weight of 32 tonne with a pulling gross of 120 tonnes.
That’s a lot of water combined with the cross-country ‘escape’ ability of the high clearance, high power unit.
